Ryde is right at the heart of metropolitan Sydney. It plays a vital role in keeping our city connected, supporting the daily lives of residents, workers and visitors alike.
A strong transport network supports our area. Buses run through Epping, Lane Cove and along Victoria Road. Ferries travel along the Parramatta River. Trains on the Northern Line and the new Metro line both provide direct links between Ryde, the Sydney CBD and beyond.
The Ryde electorate sits on Sydney’s lower north shore. It stretches from Meadowbank on the Parramatta River through to Macquarie Park near the Lane Cove River.
It includes well-known suburbs like Ryde, Meadowbank, Denistone, West Ryde, North Ryde, Marsfield, Eastwood, and parts of Carlingford. Across its 28.4 square kilometres, you’ll find Macquarie University, as well as a large part of the Macquarie Park business and industrial area.

But there’s much more to Ryde than just big business. Our community is full of life, with great places to shop, eat and connect. From Macquarie Centre to Top Ryde City and Eastwood Plaza, and through to our local villages and thousands of small businesses, there’s something here for everyone.
Ryde is a place that truly embraces its diversity. People from all over the world call it home, and that mix of cultures is part of what makes our community so vibrant.
It’s also a great place to learn. We’re lucky to have Macquarie University right on our doorstep, along with two TAFE colleges, 19 primary schools and four high schools that help shape the next generation.
